Recently, I came across Mama Ana's Empanadas in Totowa which is known for their signature empanadas and empanada flavors. Let me tell you, this place did not disappoint, especially when it comes to variety.
The first empanada I got was their 'California' one, which had shredded chicken, bacon, mozzarella, and avocado. This was one of my favorites, as it had a lot of flavor and made my taste buds water.
The next empanada I had was their 'Revuelta' one, which had pulled pork, refried beans, and mozzarella cheese. This empanada was hands down the best one I ate here! It tasted like a true authentic empanada, as it was filling and outrageously flavorful!
After that, I ate the 'Mac & Cheese' empanada, which had mac and cheese and bacon. I thought this one was okay. It was good and tasty to eat, but I probably would not get that one again.
The next one was the 'Spinach & Cheese' empanada. It had spinach, cheese, and ricotta. I was not a fan of this one and thought the other ones I had were better. I might have enjoyed it more if there was meat or protein that went with it as well. If you like spinach and veggies, this is the perfect empanada to order, but it was not for me.
Moving onto dessert, I had the 'Tres Leches' one, which had an actual Tres Leches cake inside in the empanada!! Yeah, you heard that right! This one was SO delicious, as it was creamy, sweet, and pretty spectacular. Although this was a little messy, it made up for in flavor!
Last but not least, I got the 'Apple Pie' empanada, which had apples and cinnamon and came with a sweet cream cheese dipping sauce. This empanada was comforting, as it was like eating a slice of apple pie. It was very refreshing, and simply very good!
Besides empanadas, customers can also order sandwiches, latin bowls, salads, shakes, juices, and more. Pickup and delivery are offered here. If you love empanadas like me, then Mama Ana's Empanadas should be the next food spot on your list to check out!
